In a nutshell:
New golfing services and merchandise start-up – All Scot Golf – needed web design, web development and graphic design. Freelance Edinburgh web developer and graphic designer, Ryster obliged, creating and delivering a brand identity, stationery and website with e-commerce facility.
Challenge:
Golf. Scotland’s gift to the world. And the source of eternal frustration for some as they hack round their local course on a Sunday. Unlike Barry Miller – a fine golfer with an equally fine business idea. He approached me to design everything he needed to bring the idea to life on paper and on-screen – from logo and stationery to fully-functioning website. It was no simple tap-in. Barry wanted the site to accommodate an e-commerce facility as well as interactive real-time functionality to let clubs across Scotland fully embrace it as a central resource to promote themselves and their offering. Oh, and it had to look beautiful too.
Solution:
After sizing up every angle creatively and strategically, I devised a presentation showcasing both online and offline solutions for Barry to take to golf clubs across the country. Both logo and website combined elegance (a nod to golfing heritage) with a clean contemporary feel (reflecting the game’s popularity today).
Result:
Both logo and website went down a storm with Scotland’s golfing fraternity. Over 60 clubs expressed an interest in signing up to feature on the site. Right now, Barry’s still working on teeing up funding to take the project to the next stage. Which is a shame. Because with the prospect of some amazing interactive functionality for Scotland’s golfers including real-time competition tables, results, cash wins plus prize draws, the site could deliver maximum engagement.
